Our wines using this grape variety are listed below.

Fruehburgunder is a mutation of Spätburgunder (pinot noir), 'frueh' means early. The vines ripen a bit earlier, perhaps three to four weeks before pinot noir. It has a distinguished berry color and early ripening behavior but, despite its good wine quality, it was often neglected in the past because of low yield caused by 'leaf roll' infection, making its ciultivation uneconomic in Germany. Geisenheim has invested in extended research to improve this variety. It is a very high quality wine and no Chaptalization is needed.
